From the article, Joe Arpaio from Maricopa County in Arizona, who was an anti-immigrant sheriff was pardoned by the president. He was notorious for various imprisonment of people among them Michael and Jim who were the chief executive officer and the editor of the Phoenix New Times.

They were hauled from their homes and accused for releasing secret news to the public. Joe Arpaio was being accused of brutal law enforcement and mistreatment of inmates and women, which upon address by press, he was charged with violating rights.

He was able to push forward the political needs of Trump even when few people expected a businessman to be nominated. Some people believe that his release was due to his followers who thought of him as a hero.

The fact that the sheriff and his officers violated most of the civil rights was the reason for his sentencing. The release was contrary to people’s expectation.

Jim Larkin was a student at Arizona State University before joining Michael Lacey in Phoenix New Times a campus weekly magazine which was contrary to the conservative magazines on students’ wars. Michael Lacey too was a student their and as the executive editor of the magazine.

They were both arrested in their home and charged with insulting the readers. They were later released due to public demand. The charges were later said to be counterfeit and arranged by vengeful officers.

In addition, they were able to generate Voice of Media Holding which is in charge of investigative reporting. They created a large number of followers before selling it to executive business people. In conclusion, they are the founders of American Latino unity in the community. They have continued to write articles over the years.
